AUTHORIZATION TO EXPORT TO EUROPE
From Feb 2012 the Secretos de la Union plant is allowed to export to Europe. We hope to ship the first orders in August this year.

WAGYU TASTING AT HEDIARD, PARIS, FRANCE
On September 15th, together with our European distributor, we made a tasting of our cured wagyu at the Hediard store in Paris. Founded in 1854, Hediard is one of the most prestigious gourmet food stores in Europe and has stores in Paris, Monaco, Moscow, Dubai, among others.

This event was attended by about 300 people from the culinary world, including many food journalists. Given the excellent reception of our products at the event, Hediard has decided to sell our products in 2 of its stores in Paris and Monaco.

"CURED WAGYU RIB EYE" SLICED
As of July 1st you can find our sliced "Cured Wagyu Rib Eye" exclusively at Coquinaria, Santiago. Like all our products, the trays are sealed with "modified atmosphere" (no vacuum), which allows you to enjoy this fine high-end product just as freshly sliced.

WAGYU PATAGÓNICO AT THE PRESIDENT’S COCKTAIL
President Obama had the opportunity, without knowing, to taste our Cured Patagonian Wagyu (in the note it appears as "wagyu carpaccio"). It was included in the cocktail by caterer Sofia Jottar.

FOODEX 2011 TOKYO, JAPAN
Foodex, the largest food fair in Asia was held in Tokyo, Japan, March 1-4. Secretos de la Unión was present as an exhibitor displaying and tasting their products. Again the flavor of our cured meats was very well received by those who had the chance to taste.
Unfortunately a week after the show, Japan suffered the largest earthquake and tsunami in its history. That day we were still in Japan, but in Kyoto we did not feel anything. Thanks to God on Sunday there was a "normal window" and we could leave Kyoto, drive safely to Tokyo airport, check in and return to Chile without any problems. We feel strongly for all our friends who are suffering in Japan and the Japanese people in general.

TABLE OF HONOR "Most added value PYMEX"
The 2nd Austral Business Summit was held on November 18, in Puerto Varas, Chile, organized by the Business Magazine Capital and Prochile. On this occasion, "Secretos de La Unión" received the award as "Most Value Added PYMEX". Barbara Leisinger was handed over the diploma.

TASTING WITH PHILLIPS FOODS INC
We had the chance to get to know Maxine Phillips, Vice President of Phillips Foods Inc. at a tasting at the Embassy of Chile in Washington. After the event we were invited to visit the factory and used this opportunity to introduce our products to both her husband, the CEO of the company and to the Executive Chef of Phillips Food.

FOX NEWS IN WASHINGTON
Chef Pilar Rodriguez was interviewed on the FOX morning show while preparing Chilean meals. Among the recipes presented was our "Patagonian Cured Wagyu" accompanied by fried figs. What a delight!

From September 27th to 30th, Secretos de La Unión will be part of a mission, organized by Prochile, to Washington, DC. We will present our cured beef, lamb and Patagonian Wagyu. Furthermore our Patagonian Wagyu will be used in one of the dishes prepared by Chef Pilar Rodriguez on FOX TV.

FOODEX TOKYO, JAPAN
From March 1st to 4th, Foodex, the largest food fair in Asia, was held in Tokyo, Japan. Secretos de La Unión was present and had the chance to present their cured meats: beef, lamb and Patagonian Wagyu.
It was a great suprise for the Japanese when they saw cured meat made form "Wagyu" (originally from Japan) ...which doesn’t exits in Japan!
